This event & trophy is dedicated to Robert Cleghorn who was President of the club in 1984. Robert was a well respected member of the club serving not only as President but for many years as Match Secretary. During this period he welcomed and encouraged bowlers from across Northumberland and the Scottish Borders to join in our open competitions and in doing so created many friendships between bowlers, some of which still endure to this day.

Robert sadly passed away on the 14th November 2003 but it is great to see this proud competition bearing his name.
