"Try Bowls"

Starting with our 2021 season and even during Covid restrictions being in place we have still managed to hold three "Try Bowls" events each year which attracted some fantastic support from our local community and from these events we had a number of people join the club as members.

Building on our understanding of from the 2022 and 2023 seasons, we are looking to hold at least two dedicated "Come along and Try Bowls" open events in 2024 along with corporate events which have been requested by some of our other sporting or commercial organisations in the town.

These are FUN events as you can see from our photograph and the club will provide the bowls and the coaching staff ... all you need is a pair of flat soled shoes and a good sense of humour.

Watch this space or the clubs media pages for the date of the first "Try Bowls" session. In 2024 we welcomed over forty people of all ages onto the green at our sessions and from the feedback everyone enjoyed the fun and excitement of the day.

These "Try Bowls" sessions are free and we have dedicated coaches on the green to help and assist those taking part. All you need is a pair of flat soled shoes (we do have a number of shoes in various sizes you can borrow, which have been sanitised in advance!) and we will supply the bowls with which you can have a try. If you just cant wait for our next "Try Bowls" session get in touch with the club and arrange a date/time to come an join us for a try, supported by our coaching team.

Thank You McCreath Simpson Trust

Tweedmouth Bowling Club would like to thank the McCreath Simpson Trust for their grant support in enabling the purchase of ten sets of bowls in 2022 to help with the clubs student development plan. This fantastic support enables the club to provide a range of bowls sizes covering most age ranges with the added advantage of being available for disability groups as well. If you want to "give bowls a try" come to one of our dedicated sessions of contact the club via the website.

Thank You - BALLINGER COMMUNITY TRUST & COMMUNITY ACTION NORTHUMBERLAND

The club would like to thank The Ballinger Community Trust & Community Action Northumberland for their fantastic support in 2023 in providing further grant funding to purchase a further four sets of bowls for our student and youth development initiative. Following our success in 2022 we identified  a need for extra bowls were required of specific sizes to help our younger age groups. So to all students and young persons out there, we have the equipment to support you so why not come along and give bowls a try.

Remember that we do have a protection policy in place that requires students to be accompanied by a parent or guardian whilst they are at the club but why not get them involved as well.
