The Border Bowling Association was established in 1872 and is responsible for Mens Outdoor Lawn Bowls in their area as an affiliated member of Bowls Scotland in District 30.

It organises the following competitions:

  • League
  • Top 5
  • Top 10
  • Fours
  • Championships
  • Matt Purdy Trophy

The Association Team competes in the East Section of the Andrew Hamilton Trophy.

Leagues

There are 31 clubs playing in at least one of the Border (2 Divisions), Senior and Berwickshire Leagues, split into the following 4 areas:

  • Area 1 - Ayton, Berwick, Chirnside, Coldstream, Duns Park, Eyemouth, Spittal, Tweedmouth
  • Area 2 - Abbotsford, Gala, Gala Waverley, Melrose, Peebles, St Ronans, Stow, Walkerburn
  • Area 3 - Ancrum, Earlston, Gordon, Greenlaw, Jedburgh, Kelso, Lauder, Newtown
  • Area 4 - Buccleuch, Ettrick Forest, Hawick, Langholm New, Langholm Old, Selkirk, Wilton

Note:

  • Broughton and District are the only club from District 30 not in the Border Bowling Association.
  • Langhom New, Langholm Old and Walkerburn do not play in any league
  • All 8 Area 1 Teams as well as Gordon and Greenlaw play in the Berwickshire Bowling Association League.
  • The remaining 18 teams play in the Border Bowling Association League.
