New Green Roller
New Green Roller Delivered
Tweedmouth Bowling Club recently took delivery of a Toro green roller to help the green staff in their day to day maintenance of the playing surface. Once the weather allowed Green Ranger Bobby Dryden gave the roller its first run on the green, where it performed exceptionally well. As a club we must say a BIG thank you to the local Northern Angel Fund for Berwick and Smail Family Fund at the Community Foundation for Tyne & Wear and Northumberland who helped provided some grant funding for its purchase as well as Michael Turnbull, the Toro Regional Business Manager, Toro commercial product, who helped guide us through the sourcing and purchase and logistics of getting it to site.
With the motorised roller now in place and all the rest of the machinery serviced, the club grounds staff team are working hard to get the green ready for the club opening day on Sunday 2nd April. The roller will be invaluable during the season in helping to maintain the playing surface to give maximum availability for its use by club members. If you want to give bowls a try why not contact the club either on the Website Chat, email or Facebook page to arrange a session with one of the clubs coaches. We can cater for any age from 8 to 88 and have bowls available to borrow …. all you need is a flat soled pair of shoes to wear on the green .. we do have some spare shoes available which are sanitised before use but sizes are limited.
