WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE!

Over the last couple of years the existing pneumatically operated green irrigation system which was installed over twenty three years ago started to cause the green maintenance team some operational issues to the point where the Club committee agree to action a replacement as a high priority on the clubs development plan. Over the winter months the club maintenance team have worked tirelessly to install all the infrastructure required for the upgraded system, which has electrically operated irrigation heads and a state of the art programmable operation. The final touches were made last Thursday (23rd March) and following a comprehensive testing of the system it was signed off for operation in advance of the 2023 season. This will provide an enhanced capability for the Green Ranger in managing the irrigation requirements during the summer to maximise the usage for members and guests.

This was a BIG task, with most of the cabling and replacement heads now hidden from view but the club would especially like to say thank you to Ian Turnbull, Ray Allen, James Denholm & Mel Lockhart for their sterling work during the winter, with a little help from other club members & cups of coffee from Dougie.
