This week saw the running of the annual club Ken Waring Trophy, a tournament organised amongst the regular Tuesday & Thursday afternoon “hats” competitors. The contest this year was as competitive as ever with the eventual winners Tommy Turnbull & Betty Dryden narrowly outscoring the runners up Bobby Dryden & Trevor Atkins. The trophies were presented by Honorary President Alice Butler who thanked Shirley Hope for organising the event and to all those who helped provide the buffet. A special thank you of a bouquet of flowers was made to Mags Ferguson who has been organising the refreshments through the season.
