During 2022 the Club held two very successful "Try Bowls" days. These "days" are open to everyone who wishes to come along to the club and try the sport for themselves.
The club provide the bowls, (which are in various sizes to suit all ages and abilities from 8 to 88) and the coaching support on the green. All you need is a pair of flat soled shoes (no heels or grips!!) similar to school plimsolls.
We will be publishing a number of "try bowls" event dates for 2023 once the full competition calendar has been agreed so watch out for these dates. If you just cannot wait for one of those dates, then why not get in contact with us and we will schedule a personal "try bowls" session at a date & time which suits you.
Calling all students at our local schools and Academy. Through the kind support of the Simpsons Malt Trust Fund in 2022 and the Ballinger Community Trust/Community Action Northumberland fund in 2023, we have been able to purchase a number of sets of "junior" bowls and the full range of bowls sizes moving from junior through student to adult sizes.
If you want to come along and have a try, all that is required in the way of equipment is a pair of flat soled shoes (no heels or grips) that you would normally use in the school gym. Tweedmouth Bowling Club will provide the "on green" equipment such as bowls and mats as well as the coaching/support. We do ask that you must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or teacher when you come to play and if you wish to review our our safeguarding policies they are are on the website of our affiliated governing body Bowls Scotland.
What if I just can't wait to enjoy the fun!!
If you just cannot wait for one of these organised events we have in the calendar then why not get in contact with us by either: -
- ringing the club house.
- messaging us on Facebook.
- emailing the secretary on the tweedmouthBC@gmail email address.
- Using the "Contact Us" page on this site.
- Or you can always just come along one night when we are open or on either of the Tuesday or Thursday afternoon sessions.
We cater for everyone aged eight to eighty eight+ and have a selection of bowls to cater for students through to adults that can be made available for you to try. So that we can have all the equipment and a coach available to help you "settle in", please try and contact us in advance. It also allows us to allocate a rink for your time with us.
Remember!! If you are a student then you will need you parents or guardians consent to come along for a try. They must also accompany you during the sessions to comply with our Well being & Protection policy. Why not just get them to come along as well and enjoy the fun!!
