Tweedmouth Bowling Club

Over the last year we have been working through our archive material and over the next few months we will be taking some of our club history and publishing extracts ... hope you will join us for the journey?

The photograph shows the front cover of the very first club "minute book" ... Although the club was opened in 1934 there had been public meetings held in Tweedmouth in April 1927  and again in 1928, looking to start a bowling club in this part of the town. It wasn't until May 1933, after land had been identified, that it was finally agreed to moved forward with the construction. This started in started in September 1933 and was completed for the club opening in 1934.
